COY AND FELICIA PITTMAN: HOSTS OF UNTIL DAWN PODCAST!  Coy and Felicia both have had interest in the paranormal since a young age.  While Felicia has always leaned more towards the side of believer, Coy was very skeptical. That all changed when they moved into a house that had unexplainable paranormal activity back in 2007. This started their combined journey into the world of paranormal investigations and research. Often teaming up with The Ladies Investigative Paranormal Society (L.I.P.S.), Coy and Felicia have investigated some of the most infamously haunted locations in the United States.  With a lot of persuasion from Coy -- and many people wanting to know more about their investigations and the paranormal -- Felicia agreed to start a podcast so they could talk about their paranormal adventures and misadventures. From this came the Until Dawn Podcast, which covers haunted locations, urban legends, the spooky, and unexplainable.

SPECIAL ART INSTALLATION FROM COREY SCHJOTH:  Corey Schjoth was born and raised in De Kalb, Illinois, and began his love of photography at a young age with his first camera, a Kodak Instamatic he received as a birthday present. As a child Corey was captivated by horror movies and spooky, weird legends.  This lead to his life-long obsession with ghost stories, collecting of classic horror films, and his ever-expanding Halloween-themed collection. He began his career as a photojournalist while still in high school. Phantasmagoria at Dead of Winter 2018

Despite having a career as a photojournalist, Corey wanted to express himself more freely and realize his own artistic vision. Corey wanted to combine his love of horror, the paranormal and photography. He wanted to convey feelings of dread and sense of mysterious atmosphere into his photography just like the scenes he has watched in so many classic horror films. He wanted the subject matter to be diverse from Victorian mansions, old cemeteries, gothic castles, forsaken roads, bizarre effigies and items associated with hauntings and death. He wanted to photograph only the most evocative places that offer interesting architecture and history.

After many experiments in trying to create what he envisioned for his art Corey began his infrared project called “Phantasmagoria” in the spring of 2009. Corey had a digital camera converted internally to photograph infrared which allowed him to capture the moment and atmosphere as he saw it and his project blossomed.

The name "Phantasmagoria" refers to the French pre-cinema projection ghost shows that where popular in the late 1800s. The shows used a modified magic lantern to project frightening images of skeletons, demons, and ghosts onto walls, smoke, or semi-transparent screens to shock, amaze, educate and horrify spectators. Corey feels this best describes how he wants to use the magic of photography to portray his black and white infrared images of haunted realms to amaze, shock, frighten and educate those who look at his photography. Corey painstakingly works creating each image to portray a mood or atmosphere, he tries to suggest the idea that maybe there is a world just beyond our own separated only by a thin foggy vial. Sometimes that veil is lifted and we may get a glimpse in to that mysterious world.

Corey's work will be on display -- and some items for sale -- at his booth at the 2018 Dead of Winter Festival.
